Green Inspiration: How we can all make more sustainable choices #68
Sometimes it can be difficult to feel optimistic about the future of the planet in the face of the threat posed by climate change, but Alex Robinson’s positivity about how every single one of us can make a difference is infectious.
Alex is CEO and founder of Hubbub, an environmental charity with a mission to inspire action that’s good for the environment and for all of us. Hubbub won Charity Times’ ‘Charity of the Year’ for the second time last year, deserved recognition of the work the organisation does with businesses, local authorities and community groups on campaigns that make it easier for everyone to make better choices for the environment.
Bethan had a fascinating conversation with Alex, where they discussed key topics such as the impact of individual action versus the need for structural change, as well as sustainability in the context of Capitalism. Bethan and Alex also talked about:
- the importance of everyone reducing their energy consumption by changing behaviours
- how creating positive stories can influence decision-making in local communities and government
- the importance of recognising the wealthy’s impact on the environment
